What data we process on ondaqua.com and in the Ondaqua app, why and with whom. In short: your log stays on your phone; your email only if you give it to us; questions to the expert go through an AI service.

Controller

CSIDigital LLC, 407 Lincoln Road, Suite 708, Miami Beach, FL 33139 (United States). Contact: ciao@ondaqua.com.

Email (guide and newsletter)

If you sign up we store your email, language, the code of the link you came from (for example ?da=…), the date, whether you confirmed and whether you want the newsletter (separate box, unticked). Basis: your consent. We use it only to send you the guide and, if you ticked it, the newsletter. The list is stored on our server (Cloudflare) and emails are sent with Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France, EU). We keep it until you unsubscribe (link in every email) or ask us to delete it; unconfirmed emails are deleted after 30 days.

The app’s log

Tanks, fish, tests, reminders and notes are stored only on your device (browser storage). We have no copy: if you clear your browser data or change phone, use the backup you download yourself.

Questions to the expert (AI)

When you ask a question we send to our server the question, the latest questions of the conversation, the tank data needed (litres, hardness, city and what is in your log: tank name and size, fish, tests, water changes, notes and the app’s warnings) and a random device ID for the daily limit. The answer is generated by DeepSeek (China) or, if it does not respond, Google Gemini (United States). We do not store the text of your questions (only how many you ask per day and the usage), unless you report an answer as wrong: then we keep that question and that answer. Answers come from an AI: information, not veterinary advice. Do not write personal data in your questions or notes. Basis: the service you request.

Statistics and error reports

To improve the app we store, with a random device ID (not your name), the link code and a few steps: arrival, tank saved, first question, survey answers. Also the errors you report and the species you search for and do not find (name, language, country). Basis: legitimate interest in improving the service. We keep it as long as it helps improve the app; you can ask us to delete it.

Servers and external services

The site and app run on Cloudflare, which receives your IP to serve the pages; we count requests per IP only to stop abuse. Species photos load from Wikimedia Commons. Links to Amazon and other shops lead to sites with their own privacy policies; as Amazon affiliates we may earn a commission on purchases made through them.

Cookies

No advertising cookies and no third-party analytics. We use browser storage for language, country, the log and the link code, and a technical cookie with the language you pick. These are technical: no cookie banner is needed.

Data outside the EU

CSIDigital LLC, Cloudflare and Google are in the United States (Google and Cloudflare take part in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). DeepSeek is in China, which has no EU adequacy decision: that is why we ask you not to write personal data in your questions.

Your rights

You can ask for access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability of your data, and withdraw consent at any time, by writing to ciao@ondaqua.com. If you are not satisfied with the reply you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or the authority in your country.

Children

You must be at least 14 to sign up by email.
